New Haven, Lighthouse Point hawk watch - We had 318 diurnal raptors of 12 species today. Highlights were 3 imm NORTHERN GOSHAWKS, 2 of which gave excellent extended views.
The morning produced another heavy passerine flight, highlight by a flock of 6 EVENING GROSBEAKS that alighted briefly in a tree. Other non-rators included 1 N. PINTAIL, 3,000 American Robins, 50 E. Bluebirds, 25 American Pipits, 475 PURPLE FINCHES, 600 House Finches, 8 E. MEADOWLARKS, 4,500 Red-winged Blackbirds, 2 RUSTY BLACKBIRDS, 2,800 C. Grackles, 12 PINE SISKINS, 75 American Goldfinch.
