The Tour of Architects coming to the Tacoma area this weekend (March 17)*

Over the course of two weekends in March, top architects and their clients
are offering a rare opportunity for the public to visit custom homes and
architecturally designed spaces, and meet the architects who designed
them. For the first time ever, the tours will feature custom homes in
Tacoma, Port Orchard, and Gig Harbor. The Tour of Architects is sponsored
by AIA Seattle and AIA Southwest Washington.

The "Tour of Architects" offers four unique tours on four different days,
and are grouped geographically so that visitors can maximize their
experience.

*Tour One (March 17) features projects in West and South Puget Sound
including Tacoma, Gig Harbor, and Port Orchard

*Tour Two (March 18) features projects on Bainbridge Island
Tour Three (March 24) features projects in greater Seattle
Tour Four (Marc h 25) features projects in Seattle and the Eastside

The self-guided tours feature primarily custom-residential homes, with
styles ranging from modern, traditional, sustainable, accessory dwelling
unit, universally designed and more. Other projects available for public
viewing include an award-winning Fire Station, an equestrian facility and
guest house, and the Bainbridge Island Japanese-American Exclusion
Memorial, designed as a educational site for internment of
Japanese-Americans during World War II. Architects and their teams will be
at each project to meet and greet the public, and conduct informal
