I have been planning for a while to build two engine  guards for the
front of my Yanmar engines.

A friend had the same problem a few years ago and found the easy solution  at
the local box store.  He purchased two of the screen guards that are
designed to use on the lower section or screen doors to keep the kids from  running
through them.  He easily fabricated some mounting brackets to  complete an
easy, inexpensive and professional looking engine guard.
