Linda Tillery<http://www.lindatillery.com/> is a Grammy nominated vocalist, producer, arranger, speaker, and self-taught ethno-musicologist. She and the Cultural Heritage Choir tell the story of slavery and its lingering effects from the point of view of the slaves for whom music was often their only voice. Opening for Linda Tillery and the Cultural Heritage Choir is singer-songwriter Naomi Wachira<http://www.naomiwachira.com/>. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Tracy Chapman and Miriam Makeba, she blends elements of African rhythm, American folk, and soul, offering her take on issues affecting society and telling her story as an African woman living in the diaspora.
