Hi,

Is it possible to work with the N200 with a laptop that has a RTL8103
Ethernet controller (not a 1Gb Ethernet.. Just 10/100 Mb Ethernet)?

Thanks,

iftah

You'll need to use an intermediate 1GiGe switch--plug your laptop into
one port, and the N200 into the other.  You'll be limited to fairly-low
sample rates--about 2Msps.

Also, business notebooks have been shipping Gigabit ports for about a
decade now, and RTL8103 was introduced as a moderately integrated
ethernet solution in 2008, pointing to a very low-budget notebook... I
suspect your notebook might be a bit weak to do much with the samples,
even if you just intend to get 2Msps, which is a quite wasteful if you
intend to get a N200.

Since your question was whether you could "work with the N200 with a
laptop that has a RTL8103", I'd say: depends on your application. Most
probably you won't be very happy. Generally, it makes a lot of sense
to get a decent computer for signal processing.

Greetings,
Marcus
