RADAR- Color or mono

I found Furuno and Raytheon monchrome radar just fine: I use both currently.
I would not pay the extra for a color display. Pick something with an easy
interface.

For chart displays, color does impart more value in terms of contrast, but
I'm not sure it's worth the price premium if you can find a monochrome  display.

FYI: At the Furuno website they claim to have won the NEMA award for best
radar 21 consecutive years in a row...

I have noticed that with my new senior's eyesight and the necessity to use
reading glasses, that the color displays on cell phones, gps and other
small display equipment are just a bit easier to read in color. I have
slightly more difficulty reading LCD screens than the raster stuff which I
attribute to the separated layers in the LCD systems. Overall I think I
prefer monochrome, except for the comments above.
