TWL: Winter bottom growth

I'm well along towards deciding to winter 04-'05    in Pamlico Sound, NC.
Most likely in New Bern- Oriental area, but that's still open....anyway,almost
certainly  fresh water...

I'll be hauling in NY in a few months for  bottom painting. From then the
boat will remain in salt water until fall when I cruise through the
Chesapeake...So I expect to lose my salt water growth ....and I think salt water barnacles,
if any, die in fresh water....And my experience is that after an active
summer boating season, there is very little salt water bottom growth.

Question:
What kind of bottom growth can I expect laying over for three of four months
in Pamlico fresh water??....especially, any barnacles?? mussels?? Have the
zebra mussels gotten that far?

Cheers,

Rob,

No zebra mussels down here, think the water temp is too high in the summers.
In the New Bern area my vessel has been in the water for almost exactly one
year since last haul out.  A diver checked her three months ago, no
barnacles other than a few on the prop.  I should be able to go two years,
or more, between haul outs.  You still have to keep an eye on your zincs
though.  You will get some slime growth of some kind, more appearance than
anything.
