TWL: Weather info

So, where do other trawler owners get their weather info?

There is a list of local weather forecast phone numbers which gives
you - free - a basic local forecast. After the local predictions,
you are then invited to call a variety of "900" numbers for specific
advice and can talk to a real life weather expert. You will be billed
on your regular telephone account for this service. Perhaps that's
what they were using.

George of Scaramouche1, Toronto, Canada

P.s: The (free) Toronto weather number is 416/661-0123. I can get you
other Canadian cities' numbers.

Spirit of Zopilot uses Walt Hack, a commercial weather routing service.  I
use him as well -- he is very good.

Where do you get this type of weather info?  Our regular Canadian marine
weather forecast just gives an outlook for Monday, nothing later
in the week
than that.

So, where do other trawler owners get their weather info?

Thanks,
Darby & Mike

Our small village had a visit from "Spirit of Zopilote" - unfortunately she
had to leave due to a weather warning for later in the week and wanted to
get to Maine before then.

This leads (of course) to a question:

Does Walt have an email address?

We use primarily Rick Shema (US Navy router in Hawaii - details on the
Adgagio website under Techno tab). Rick is the router that Jim Corenman and
Stan Honey use when things get really complicated :-)
