The Health Psychology Unit (HPU), University of Technology Sydney, is a clinical centre of excellence
for the prevention and treatment of psychological disorders with a
focus on effectiveness research and early intervention.

Our newest program, Side by Side: Bringing Fun Back to Family,
is a major clinical research trial for children aged 7-14 years with
disruptive behaviour disorders, and their parents. We are seeking a
clinical psychologist to deliver individual therapy for this program and
be involved in research associated with this program. This may include
writing papers for publication and presenting research at conferences.
There is also the opportunity to conduct individual and group therapy
for clients with other presenting problems, as well as presenting and
co-ordinating educational seminars on topics relevant to young people.

This position is for 2-3 days per week. Being available for after school appointments is a necessity.

Essential Criteria:

PhD, Masters or Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from an APAC accredited university

Full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia

Demonstrated experience working with children, adolescents and families

Strong written communication skills

Desirable Criteria:

At least 2 years post university experience

Knowledge of best practice in child and adolescent interventions

Experience treating children with oppositional behaviours

Experience delivering parent management training to families

Demonstrated track record of publications in peer reviewed journals

Salary:

Commensurate with experience. Please note that this is a 12 month
fixed term casual position. There may be the opportunity to extend the
position after this time.
