Celebrate the Newest Section of Prairie Line Trail and New Interpretive Artworks
The City of Tacoma, Tacoma Art Museum, Tacoma Historical Society and Downtown On the Go invites the community to a walking tour and reception to celebrate new artworks, gathering spaces and innovative green stormwater features along the newest section of the Prairie Line Trail on October 3, 2019 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
The walking tour will leave from South 21st and Hood Street at 5:30 p.m. The tour will showcase several new artworks, including:
· Working Forward, Weaving Anew by Esteban Camacho Steffensen and Jessilyn Brinkerhoff
· Nexus by RYAN! Feddersen
· Shipment to China by Haiying Wu
· Pressure + Flow by Matthew Dockrey
· Where the Rails Meet the Sails by Rotator
All the Rivers in the World, Tacoma by Vaughn Bell (Commissioned by ArtsWA in partnership with University of Washington)
Several artists will be in attendance to talk about their work and answer questions.
After the walking tour, please join Mayor Victoria Woodards and other community leaders for a reception and light refreshments at the Tacoma Art Museum from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
This family-friendly event is free and includes activities for all ages.
