Today's Meeting Cancelled

JC
Jeff Carter
Mon, Jun 1, 2015 1:10 PM

Good morning,

I don’t recall why, exactly, we have had this June 1 meeting date on our calendar. I think it must have been because the regular May date would have fallen on Memorial day. However, we’ve already had our May meeting (we had it here in D.C. on May 13th) and we have a June meeting scheduled at our regular time (last Monday of the month, June 29th).

So I’m canceling the meeting scheduled for this morning unless there is an urgent need  — if so, let me know ASAP.

Sorry for the confusion -- I just saw it on the calendar this morning.

Jeff

Hi, all,
The only urgent issue I am aware of is finalizing the dates for AEFL week. They were tentatively set as September 21 to 26 but have not been officially approved. We get request for the dates and activities via Facebook and the email inbox regularly, and I need to know how to respond to people. Could we consider officially accepting (or revising) these dates via e-mail? Thanks,
Margaret

Margaret,

I don’t think this is a decision that requires a board vote, but it would be good to be sure it works for most coalition members. I suggest we put those dates out to the membership at large in order to determine whether anyone has an issue with it being that week.

Can you do this? I’d make it a tight deadline for responding - this week.

Agreed on the tight response deadline. Do we need to check with the Adult Literacy Caucus too, or do they just do what we tell them? (ha ha ha ha ha ha….)

They don’t care. We just have to get dates to Congressman Polis, who traditionally makes the resolution.

The only other item is the document on WIOA regs for organizations which planned to submit. We are editing ours right now, so I should have this to you by the end of the day, Jeff.

They don’t care. We just have to get dates to Congressman Polis, who traditionally makes the resolution.

Margaret,

I don’t think this is a decision that requires a board vote, but it would be good to be sure it works for most coalition members. I suggest we put those dates out to the membership at large in order to determine whether anyone has an issue with it being that week.

Can you do this? I’d make it a tight deadline for responding - this week.

I suggest we put those dates out to the membership at large in order to determine whether anyone has an issue with it being that week. Can you do this? I'd make it a tight deadline for responding - this week. They were tentatively set as September 21 to 26 but have not been officially approved. We get request for the dates and activities via Facebook and the email inbox regularly, and I need to know how to respond to people. Could we consider officially accepting (or revising) these dates via e-mail? Thanks, Margaret --------- Original Message --------- Subject: [NCL Board] Today's Meeting Cancelled From: "Jeff Carter" <jeffcrtr@gmail.com> Date: 6/1/15 9:10 am To: "National Coalition for Literacy Board Members List" <board@lists.national-coalition-literacy.org> Good morning, I don't recall why, exactly, we have had this June 1 meeting date on our calendar. I think it must have been because the regular May date would have fallen on Memorial day. However, we've already had our May meeting (we had it here in D.C. on May 13th) and we have a June meeting scheduled at our regular time (last Monday of the month, June 29th). So I'm canceling the meeting scheduled for this morning unless there is an urgent need - if so, let me know ASAP. Sorry for the confusion -- I just saw it on the calendar this morning.
