BEST WISHES FOR A SAFE AND SUCCESSFUL EVENT...
... to all Gators who will be competing this weekend!
Our race calendar remains light as usual at this time of year, but we do
have a couple of athletes in action as our two favorite Philly to NYC
travelers are back at it! While the race calendar may not be that full, we
have many club activities taking place so we are going to take this
opportunity to summarize all of the action in case you missed anything.
As always, we do our best to track all of your events, but if we missed an
event in which you are participating, we'd like to know about it. If you
have an endurance sports event of ANY type, PLEEEASE let us know about it
so that we can send good Gator vibes your way.
In case you missed it, here's what's going on from a club standpoint...
• "I Don't Want It, You Can Have It" Bingo: We're planning for this
triathlon gear swap social activity that may also include additional
raffles and a 50/50 for the afternoon of Sunday, February 19 (1pm-4pm).
We're looking to move forward with the event if there are at least 20
planning to attend. We have a poll that Jill posted under
"Featured"/"Announcements" and as of this posting there are only 9 planning
to attend. We're going to make a go/no go decision at the end of next
week, so if you plan to attend and have not already responded, please enter
your vote.
• Uniform Fitting Opportunities: We will have several fitting opportunities
over the next couple of weeks in advance of our annual order period (taking
place later in February). There are several new items plus the usual race
kits, cycling shorts and jerseys, etc. The first session is
TOMORROW/Saturday 2/4 between 12:30pm-2pm at the Spring Valley YMCA in the
Multipurpose Room. Angela will also be at next Tuesday's run and spin
workouts and also at Thursday's evening swim workout.
• Member T-Shirt sizes: We will place our order for member T-shirts very
soon. To help us with Sizing, Rachel Truckley has posted a poll for you to
provide your shirt size. If you have not yet responded, please do so that
we can best ensure an acccurate order.
• Sponsors Document: An updated sponsors document containing all of our
discount codes and other special offers from our amazing sponsors has been
posted. You can find it under "Featured" / "Announcements". Also, we
still have many more sponsor comp entries to distribute over the next
couple of months, so watch for announcements by Rachel Truckley about these
opportunities!
• Membership update: Tuesday 1/31 marked the end of our 2 month continuous
membership renewal period. Our club databases will be updated over the
weekend to represent the current roster. Our youth group is the largest it
has ever been with over 25 members and we have close to 20 new adult and
youth members just since the start of the year! For anyone that has not
renewed, if you decide later to renew, you can do so at any time and we
will reestablish your connections.
• Seminar - "How to plan your 2023 season": Our head coaching team of Logan
Washburn and Dre Barber will conduct this event on Wednesday, February 8 at
7pm via Zoom. Check out the event for details!

• Gators Club Philly: We announced our next "club", which is based on all
things Philadelphia. This takes place between February 1 and March 31 and
will culminate with a club party in April. There are a variety of (easy)
ways that you can earn entry into the club, many having to do with
attending a Gators workout or RUNegades group run. See the post under
"Featured" / "Announcements" for more details.
Weekend Workouts: We have three workout options over the weekend plus a
special workout on Monday...
• Saturday 2/4, 7:30am-9am: Zwift meetup
• Sunday 2/5, 8:30am, Steel City Coffeehouse, Phoenixville: RUNegades group
run! Continuing the kick off of our new relationship with the RUNegades,
all Gators are invited to participate in this weekly run!
• Sunday 2/5, 11:15am-12:15pm, Spring Valley YMCA indoor lap pool:
Uncoached group swim workout.
Weekend Events: This weekend we have two athletes in NYC with one also
taking on an extra Saturday swim challenge and two athletes continuing an
extended run challenge...
All weekend and beyond: Sarah Barkley and Kristie Bruno are well on their
way to completing the RUNegades "Resolve to Run Winter Challenge"!
Saturday, February 4:
• Frozen Frogman (Hockessin, DE): Weather conditions permitting, Susan
Krause Flavin will be participating in the 1 mile swim option at this
outdoor event taking place at the Hockessin Athletic Club. Go Susan!
Sunday, February 5:
• NYRR Manhattan 10K (Central Park, New York City): Susan Flavin makes it a
double event weekend as she and Joe DeNicola will be heading to the Big
Apple for this full Central Park loop that also includes Harlem Hill, Three
Sisters, and Cat Hill, so lots of climbing involved! Go Susan and Joe!
Have fun, Gator Done, then drink a beer! 💚BK🍺
