THIS IS AN EMAIL FROM THE T&T LIST ADMIN TEAM WITH A SUGGESTION FOR THOSE WHO FEEL OVERWHELMED BY THE AMOUNT OF LIST EMAIL TRAFFIC. PLEASE READ BEFORE DISCARDING. The T&T List, at present, generates about 40 individual emails each day on average - 1200 per month - received in almost real time. If you subscribed to the "standard" version of the list, this means that you are reading and sorting through quite a few emails every day, or that you have created filters to sort those emails into separate folders, which you still must decide how to handle. If you find that the number of list emails is becoming a burden for whatever reason, there is an alternative that eliminates the individual emails. It is called the "digest" version of the list. The digest version of the list is a daily compilation of all the emails posted to the list in the preceding 24 hours, and is sent out at midnight each day. That means one lengthy email each day, rather than 40 for you to deal with. The disadvantage of the digest version is that it take slightly more effort to reply to an email contained within the digest, but once you learn how to do that by cutting and pasting, the advantage of one email in your inbox in the early morning may outweigh the slight disadvantage. You can easily switch from the standard version to the digest version (and back) through your personal administrative page at the T&T List website. Go to the section "Set digest mode" and click the "on" button if you wish to receive the digest; click the "off" button if you wish to receive the standard version of the list. Instructions for accessing your personal administrative page are contained in the monthly reminder you receive from the list. Click on the link for the list for which you wish to change the digest option. The password you'll need is there, also. Didn't keep any of those monthly reminder emails? After entering your email address near the bottom of the next page, you'll be prompted to provide a password or, if you've forgotten your password, you can click on a button to be emailed your password.
