I noticed that Sta-Bil claims to fight off the ethanol problems. I'm running
that in the tanks of my Whaler, as well as for my dinghy outboards. Too soon
to tell about the effects.

The newer, dark colored Stabil does. If you are concerned about ethanol be
sure not to buy the original red stuff. The new formulation is more expensive
per bottle but takes less to treat a given amount of gas so is cheaper to use
than the original.

Randy & all,
I used the blue Sta-Bil in my outboard tank for a couple months prior to
installing the inline 10 micron Racor. The Sta-bil didn't make any
difference, as I had the worst problems at Marathon, using E10 treated
with Sta-bil. I switched to the PRI-G ethanol treatment at the same time
I added the filter, and have had no problems since. I believe the filter
is the biggest part of the solution, but I'm not willing to experiment
and risk having to revisit the whole carburetor tear-down exercise! I'm
content to leave well enough alone since what I'm doing has prevented
any further incidence of fouling.
