Cruising America's Great Loop and other inland routes
View all threadsThis is second hand, but what people have told me is that some cards do work,
usually ones with new numbers. Appreantly, the 800 numbers you dial when
using the calling card is sometimes set up to accept international calls. If
the card is set up that way they work. However, as the phone card company
sees a high call pattern from a particular area they "fix" the problem and the
card stops working. The logical advice is to take a few cards over and try
them. If they don't work you can always use them stateside. Again, as I said,
I am just passing on second hand information (YMMV).

I have heard that ATT telephone calling cards may be used in the Bahamas.
Does
any one have experience with this? I have seen ATT calling cards for sale in
Sam's which state on the back of the package that they may be used in the
United Kingdom however ATT states they are not good in the Bahamas. To use
the
ATT cards do they have to be purchased in the Bahamas? The BaTelCo cards are
$1.00 / min as opposed to $.20 / min for ATT. I also have been told that
cell
phone use is not recommend in the Bahamas due to pirating.
