Bonjour,
As you probably figure, boating season is behind us in this part of the
world (Montreal, Quebec). Most marinas and services won't open before May,
15th.
I have been very impressed by message last week of Bob and Marie Austin,
saying : "My home, dock, car, dog (but not wife) are available to those
passing through Pensacola."
And I thought that maybe, some of you would enjoy visiting Montreal and take
a break from boating for a few days (weeks). The area is beautiful under the
snow. People come from all over the world, even Japan, to ski around here.
And of course, Christmas is very romantic.
I do not have a guest house, but I have a guest-room and enough parking for
cars and even motorhome. I would be more than glad to receive (or to help to
discover the area) those who would like to visit this French part of
America. Montreal and Quebec City are gorgeous. Most people who live here
handle English pretty well, so the language barrier is not a real problem.
And if the traditional sense of hospitality belongs to Southern States, I
believe that we are trying hard to match them... Plus some of the best
restaurants in the world. No French fries...
So please feel free to visit. I have been long enough on this list to know
the quality of the people and the respect they have for each other... even
if I learned a few words which are not in my dictionary, here and there...
When I was very young, in the oldest part of my family in the country (South
of France), there was one more plate and seat than the number of guests, in
case somebody would knock at the door... I guess this invitation to you is
the modern way to perpetuate traditions.
