Hey all, I just saw a report that unfortunately, the Great-Black Hawk is
currently in route to an avian rehabilitation center. The bird was found on
the ground earlier and I’m unaware of its current status. I was hoping this
storm wouldn’t put it out but can’t say I’m surprised. I probably should
have gone for it huh??

Oh my! How sad - I’m up in Maine visiting and just saw it Friday & Saturday hunting, flying, eating the fattest squirrels I’ve ever seen. I suppose last night was brutal on him.

Very positive update from Avian Haven's FB page this morning saying that
the bird is alert and standing today. Fingers crossed the bird makes a full
recovery and is somehow able to be released either in its native range or
somewhere much warmer. Anybody starting a GoFundMe to book it a flight to
Panama?....
