I will be buying a bow thruster this spring. Being new to trawling what should I be looking for in the selection of a thruster? Are there any complaints that anyone has with the thruster on their boat? Any favorite manufacturers?

thanks

Get a bigger one than they recommend! The biggest that will fit your boat
and budget will make you happier in the long run. If you get one too small,
you'll be sorry later. After doing a lot of research, I went with a Wesmar
and love it. Since I installed mine, they have come out with a lone of
continuous duty electrics, and that is what I would put in if I were doing
it today. http://www.wesmar.com/thruster.html If you have hydraulics on the
boat already, a hydraulic thruster would be the way to go, but probably too
expensive if you don't already have hydraulic systems.
