Total:                    1650          6594          11664

Observation start time: 07:00:00
Observation end  time: 14:00:00
Total observation time: 7 hours

Official Counter:        Matt Oswald

Observers:        Chris Burris, Dave Brown, Harold V., Mac McAlpine,
Ronnie Goodhand

Visitors:
Some visitors today and thanks to them and several of our regular
counters... Matt, Mac, Ronnie, Chris, Su and Harold for getting a count
done today.

Weather:
Moderate WSW to SW winds were forecast and they did seem straight SW at
times but during the late morning it seemed the wind went almost fully W
and it slowed the flight. Temps were much cooler to start at 6C and
climbing to a high of 20C.  A bit of cloud around throughout the count
period but it never built in.

Raptor Observations:
We had hoped for a better flight today especially of Peregrines but we only
saw a few Peregrines (4) with the 1st coming by around 10 EST and the
others by lunch time. Otherwise, the only other real highlights were a
number of male N. Harriers (the "grey ghosts"), a couple of Merlins and a
single Osprey. The total birds tallied for the day was 1650 but most of
these were TVs (1575 based on a rough count today).

Non-raptor Observations:
We were still seeing a few passerines in and around the viewing platform
area but most were hunkered down out of the winds. Birds included Chipping
Sparrows which we hadn't seen around the viewing area this fall yet and at
least one Belted Kingfisher doing a flyby.

Just 3 Monarchs were observed today.
