This morning at 10:00 am I visited the large pond at the corner of Moodie
Drive and Barnsdale Road. There is a small amount of open water visible from
the road and the migrants are starting to arrive. Here I found Northern
Pintail, Ring-necked Duck, Bufflehead, Common Goldeneye and a dozen Common
Merganser.

The Burnside Pond can be reached from Highway 416. Take the Barnsdale exit
heading west and turn right (north) on Moodie Dr to reach the gate near
Burnside Sand & Gravel.
