Dear HBCU Library Alliance Colleagues,

Consider this opportunity shared on behalf of Christine Di Bella, ArchivesSpace Senior Program Manager whose contact information is below.

The ArchivesSpace Diversity Partnershiphttps://archivesspace.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ADC/pages/2049998863/ArchivesSpace+Diversity+Partnership offers support for implementing the ArchivesSpacehttps://archivesspace.org/ archival information management application for institutions that are themselves or primarily serve communities currently underrepresented in the ArchivesSpace community, including academic Minority-Serving institutions including HBCUs; non-profit or community archives primarily run by or serving people of color; and tribal archives. We recently announced the continuation of the program and are seeking applicants for a new cohort of the program for a three-year term that will start in July 2024.

Partners get resources that help them implement the ArchivesSpace application at their institution and build it into the work of their archives, including ArchivesSpace membership, hosting, training, and user and technical support. New for 2024, Partners also have the option of consultant hours that they can use for further data migration support, workflow creation, or any other kind of work at their repository that would help them implement ArchivesSpace. Partners are part of a cohort with other institutions that may be experiencing similar challenges and experiences. The resources of membership also encourage Partners to participate in the larger ArchivesSpace community, at their own pace and in whatever ways are most of interest for them. The Partners in our first cohort, which began in 2021 and concludes later this year, included two of your member institutions, Spelman College and Xavier University of Louisiana, as well as Black Cultural Archives, Detroit Sound Conservancy, and Weeksville Heritage Center.

More information about the programhttps://archivesspace.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ADC/pages/3550281745/Announcement+of+2024+Program, including a link to the recording of a recent information session about it, is on our wiki. We’re also happy to email with or talk to anyone that has any questions or are trying to decide if the program might be right for them. People can email us at ArchivesSpaceHome@lyrasis.orgmailto:ArchivesSpaceHome@lyrasis.org to get a conversation going. The deadline for people to apply for this year’s cohort is April 12, 2024.

Thanks very much for your consideration. If you have any questions or would like more information (about this program or about anything else to do with ArchivesSpace), please just let me know and I’d be glad to help.

All best,

Christine
