Pacific Gallery Artists (PGA) is a non profit organization founded in
1946. The purpose of PGA is to promote art in the Pacific Northwest, interest
the public in the work of local artists, and cooperate with local groups in
artistic enterprises.
We welcome all interested 2D and 3D artists. We meet September through
June, the second Tuesday of the month, 7 PM, at the South Park Community
Center, 4851 South Tacoma Way, Tacoma, WA. (except Dec. & June when we meet at
a private home). We usually have a demo or hands on project at every
meeting.
DATE OF THE NEXT MEETING: Tues. January 12th
TIME:
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
The program for the evening will be Judy Gilbert, encaustic artist from
Gig Harbor. Judy has entered and received awards in numerous juried
exhibitions in this area. She has also taught at the Fort Warden summer Art
Program, the Factory of Visual Art in Seattle and the Evergreen State College in
Olympia.
Judy will demonstrate her encaustic techniques, show samples of her work
and give a historical background of the art of painting with melted wax.
This should be a fascinating presentation for artists of all media.
We extend an invitation to have all interested artists, come to a meeting
as our guest. Come visit us, we look forward to meeting you.
