Dear Everyone,

Please welcome our new member, Chloe Ng.  Her self-introduction is as below.

"I am currently a PhD student in SOAS. You can reach me via e-mail at 655811@soas.ac.ukmailto:655811@soas.ac.uk. My main supervisor is Professor Tian Yuan Tan. My PhD research focuses on war-related female images of the period 1100-1200 A.D. in historical and literary sources written in the Song dynasty (960-1279). Through close reading and textual analysis, the dissertation aims to examine how depictions of women and perceptions of such female images changed over time, investigate how and why these images were produced, and ultimately, explore the effects national instability had on the changes of female images. My research interests include premodern Chinese literature and gender history."

Cheers,
Reiko Shinno
