Sunrise Walk - Stratford - 10/30

From Frank Mantlik, with Sunrise Birding group

10/30  Stratford, various sites including Greenway, Short Beach, and Stratford Point - 48 bird species, with highlights: point-blank looks at an immature Peregrine while Common Loons were giving their eerie Halloween calls, a nice mixed flock of shorebirds at "Avco" Cove, eleven species of waterfowl including a huge flock of 550 Brant along Short Beach, and a late American Oystercatcher and Laughing Gull.

Saw Mr. Mantlik's post on Brant, I want to add that between Norwalk Harbor and Calf Pasture Beach there are at least 800, perhaps 1000 Brant in the area.
