Dear Colleagues,

Please join me in welcoming to the listserv community Miki Morita mm3846@georgetown.edumailto:mm3846@georgetown.edu , who has provided the following self-introduction:

My name is Miki Morita, and I am a postdoctoral fellow in the department of art and art history at Georgetown University. My research interest resides in Buddhist art of northwestern China and the use of visual representations and material remains as primary sources in investigating socio-historical questions concerning East and Central Asian cultures. For my doctoral research at the University of Pennsylvania, I worked on a comparative study of Buddhist images from the Turfan region from the period of Uyghur dominance between the 9th through the 14th century. Besides my general interest in the Song-Yuan period, I am currently interested in the circulation of Buddhist texts and images especially around the time of Liao and Western Xia as a source for Buddhist art of the Uyghur period. I am looking forward to learning much from the Song-Yuan listserv community.

Yours truly,

Michael
