I'll weigh in on this discussion. I have operated several different size boats and I can say that the bow thruster is the most important , by far.  Stern thrusters are nice to have. I like to use both when I am parallel parking in a tight space - both coming and going.

Some are suggesting hydraulic is  not more expensive than electric. I seriously doubt that but hydraulic is nice as it automatically provides the variable speed flexibility.
