How do you make the tires float?
(endsnip)

I have not seen these installed, but if I was doing it . . . using a tire to
float up and down a piling, I would get a truck or mobile home tire on the
rim. Mobile home rims, and some truck rims, do not have a center section . .
. no spokes so to speak. They are essentially a metal ring with the tire
mounted on it. The rest is part of the axel.

The tire would then hold air, and float, and the metal ring would slide up
and down the piling better.

Our marina uses big earth mover tires for a breakwater. They just stuff them
full of foam.
