Q?: Hairy WP -- some red on top besides cap

Here in Hamden, I have a Hairy WP with a filled in red back of the head, but with a few (one or two, hardly more) red feathers somewhat further forward, on the top of the head, just behind the eye.

Does anyone have an opinion whether this is a juvenile who has almost lost his first cap (timing is right), or an adult with a stray feather or two?
