We need volunteers in all areas for our full distance IRONMAN race taking place Sunday, July 24, 2022. We are happy to announce that many areas that were eliminated in 2021 are back! - Body markers - Wetsuit peelers - Bike handlers - Change tents - Gear bags Volunteers will receive a volunteer t-shirt and food during race day. All volunteers are also invited to a volunteer party with raffles, complimentary dinner and drinks, a volunteer slideshow, giveaways, and live music! Signing up to volunteer is quick and easy, and the captains of all areas will follow up with instructions and guidance so you’ll always feel you are playing a major part in this great event. Our long-time returning volunteers are rewarded with first option at these most popular areas. They are by invitation only from the area captain to experienced volunteers. If we haven't filled these areas with experienced returning volunteers, we will open them to the public as we get closer to the event. Our most popular areas include: - Finish Line - Motorboats - Kayaks - Body marking - Wetsuit peelers - Medical shifts - Bike check in - Run Aid Station #6 early shifts Registering to volunteer for Ironman Lake Placid on the website gives you the privilege of receiving an advance entry link for the following year's race. All registered volunteers who are in the system and have shown up for their shifts will receive a link a day or two after the race, which can be used to register as an athlete at tier one pricing, while slots last, for the following year's event. Anyone not registered on the website by July 19 will not receive advance registration privileges. Our 2021 race sold out in four weeks, so volunteering is a great way to ensure you get the lowest price available to register. Volunteers will have approximately seven days to register before their link expires. Share this opportunity with everyone you know who would love to be a part of this amazing race and experience.
