Appears to be in breeding plumage still, showing little streaking on the head. I found the summering male WHITE-WINGED SCOTER dead on the beach. From Mike C Van Valen: 09/18/14 - Norwalk, yard -- I had a Peregrine Falcon fly high over the yard this afternoon. 10-15 minutes later, another came swooping down just over the treetops, then shot straight up and followed the same path as the earlier falcon.
