Dear IMLA University Cities Group:
I've attached IMLA's Dockless Micromobility Guidance. This document covers a variety of aspects for scooter regulation that you may find useful. If you have any questions I'm happy to answer them and you can reach out to me directly at nsanjar@imla.orgmailto:nsanjar@imla.org. We're working on updating the document as new issues arise. As I mentioned on the call, it may be a good idea for the groups to work together in updating the guidance and we can work on University specific concerns.
For those of you planning to attend IMLA's Mid-Year Seminar, we will have a program that I am moderating discussing scooters. I'm also leading a WONK table at the mid-year on the future of the local right of way using dockless as a tool for discussion. I'll be discussing dockless specifically, but also linking that to other developments just on the horizon.
I hope you find the document useful and please let me know if you have any questions.
Best,
Negheen

Friends,
Per the request in today's meeting, here's a link to the City of Iowa City's rental permit ordinance. https://www.sterlingcodifiers.com/codebook/index.php?book_id=953
Click on the link on the left side of the page for Title 17 - BUILDING AND HOUSING, Chapter 5: HOUSING CODE, and then browse (it's lengthy), perhaps focusing on 17-5-16, which includes the rental permit requirement, as well as sanctions for failing to abide by the standards.
