I like to wake up in the morning and see another trawler in anchorage. Since
there are only 1000 listees world-wide, the chance of seeing one of you would
be cause for celebration.

David et al,

Have to say that that was my first thought as well.

site. I thought it was a mis-use of the list. Sorry but someone had to say
it, why not give the direct URL?
Hopefully unintentional.

It was noticed and assumed to be unintentional.  However, it was addressed by the TWL
help team the day the message was posted.  The direct URL method was suggested for
future posts.

Regarding,

<snip>Am I the bad guy again? I'm suprised no one saw this as a way to get
1000
TWL listees to visit a commercial trawler web site. Notice the URL given
went to the home page with a trawler and not directly to the anchorage
site. I thought it was a mis-use of the list. <endsnip>

I had the same thoughts myself, but I'm not really offended by web links.
Had he thrown in a sales pitch in his email message then that would be
offensive for the norms of this list.

Did you notice in a subsequent message by the same fellow (see below), where
he referenced the intense discussion he started, that he did not include a
web link? And this was written by him prior to raising your URL issue.

<snip>Hello TWL-

Well, it looks like our little anchorage page has brewed up a firestorm
of opinions.  This was certainly not our intent.  I guess we will just
let those who choose to visit define what the site ends up becoming.  I
will leave the location descriptions up to you.

Cheers
