Yeah, Rich, I really feel sorry for you guys down there. I get to go out
and snow blow today. I bet you don't have that benefit. And tonight, 10
below zero Fahrenheit. No global warming to put up with around here. But
I must confess, we will probably go to SW FL later in the winter to
charter a trawler. Somebody has to keep the economy down there going. It
will be tough, but somebody has to do it. We'll be good citizens and do
our patriotic duty.

"You poor guys in Florida. Up here in Minnesota, the boat has been
put to
bed for several months. 3 above this morning and snow coming
tonight. Now
that is real winter!! (Oh, and we are starting to get some very
hard
water in the harbor now."
Well, David, year-round use does have its down sides. Our insurance
rates
probably reflect that fact. Then there is the need to run the
machinery
every two weeks whether or not I want to. Dragging myself down the
pier and
taking myself out for a run down the bay for lunch/fuel/whatever
just gets
to be such an onerous task that on some of those 60-degree-ish days
in the
bright winter sun all by myself on the water I just think about
chucking it
all and getting an RV. Winter is really hell here. Stay there
where you
get to drink hot toddies all winter while gazing out on the pretty
snow in
the full knowledge that you boat is not out back trying to sink
itself all
the time.
