For all interested, to access Hammonasset early, you must have two things: a Connecticut duck stamp and a special issue Hammo park pass for the day.

Take your Connecticut duck stamp to the Hammo office (which is open 24/7) anytime after 5 pm the day before through 6:30 am the day of, to receive a special one-day pass to enter the park early. After 6:30 am the day of, you cannot get a pass for that day.

I've heard that they don't want all the regular folks waiting in line in the morning to see anyone entering the park early.

Once in, there are no restrictions on what areas of the park you can bird.

If it works out well at Hammonasset COA plans to request that it be
extended throughout the State.
