Hello all,
I am in the process of putting together a nav package for my boat and thinking about what works with what...
I have virtually decided on the (now) older E series Raymarine chartplotters (specifically the e80). It is readily available on eBay still NIB for a very good price. When looking at radars though, I see Raymarine, Raytheon, Furuno and others and wondering which of these might work with the E series plotter.
On one hand I'm guessing New Raymarine radars will work, possibly the older Raymarines, maybe even the old Raytheon and probably not any other brand.
On the other hand these E series are not dedicated radar displays as in the past so there might be an interface available.
Can anybody shed light on this for me or direct me to a source of info??
Thanks,
Joel Wilkins

I've just installed a Raymarine C-80 display with their 2KW radar -
seems to work fine at the dock, and the chart overlay looks useful (but
haven't tried it in Real Life yet...)
I think that if you want the E-80 to serve as the radar display, then
you will need one of Raymarine's current radar systems that are
intended to use the C80 and E80 displays - however, only Raymarine
will know for sure what your options are.

i had the c80 with Raymarine's new 4kw dome on another boat and was very
happy with it.
