Hi Chaffee County cyclists!
Spring is here, and that means riding is ON. There are lots of ride options
for this week - so get after it. No excuses. See you on the road!
TONIGHT, 5:30 Ladies Night Out:
https://salidacyclingclub.org/event/ladies-night-out/ Join me and Connie
Goscinski-Smith at Amica's at 5:30. This evening's route is here:
https://ridewithgps.com/routes/27449752
This is a road ride for ladies of all abilities - speedy, leisurely, and
everything in between. Whether you're looking for a challenge, exercise, new
skills, or just a fun social experience, we want you to join us! We hope to
build a supportive riding environment for women of all ages and fitness
levels. We'll begin the rides in May with a standard route, mostly avoiding
traffic and along county roads, as much as possible. As the group evolves,
we'll take suggestions and perhaps vary the route. Because we may only have
one ride leader per week (ride leaders may rotate), this is not technically
a "no-drop" ride. All this means is that each person should ride at their
own pace, know the route (which we will share beforehand), and be
responsible for herself. Join us for some cycling fun! Here's the route for
this evening:
TONIGHT, 5:30 Gravel Ride, F Street Bridge:
https://salidacyclingclub.org/event/subculture-gravel-ride/
This is a "spirited" gravel ride of approximately 2 hours. Meet at the F
Street bridge at 5:30 on Wednesdays (starting tonight) for gravel road
rides. Not a road bike ride. Spirited ride on rougher dirt roads and some
pavement. 35c+ tires recommended. Regrouping at certain spots.
Rides may include going to Turret, up towards Blanks Cabin, down towards
Vallie Bridge, etc, may include some light singletrack. We are feeling it
out for day of the week and time to see what works best for everyone,
including the working man/woman, knowing that it will not fit everyone's
schedule. Hopefully see some of you there. Get in touch with me (
mailto:markpwalker@gmail.com markpwalker@gmail.com) or come by tonight
with questions.
THURSDAY, 10am:
https://salidacyclingclub.org/event/bam-ride-b-group-in-the-am-2/
The BAM Ride rides again, Thursday mornings at 10 AM. Leaving form Amicas
Pizzeria.. This is a moderately-paced, no-drop ride. Ride route for the day
will be suggested by the ride leader(s) and finalized by consensus.
SATURDAY, THE GUFFEY HUFFER GRAVEL RIDE sponsored by Subculture (126 + 72
mile options): More info here:
https://www.facebook.com/events/169370280544884/ and here:
https://coloradoes.wordpress.com/swes-event-list/ddf200k/
SUNDAY, PASTRY RIDE , 10am: https://salidacyclingclub.org/event/pastry-ride/
Sweet! The Pastry Ride is resurrected. This is another moderately-paced ride
with sweet desserts waiting at the end. Leave from Amicas Pizza and finish
the ride at Cafe Dawn's new location on East First Street. This is also a
no-drop ride where faster-paced riders will wait at key points in the ride.
Ride leader(s) will suggest a route; final route will be chosen by
consensus.
The gravel ride meets at Subculture at 5:30, not F street bridge. See you
there.
