Happy June to our Canadian members!

My name is Deanna Shahnami. I'm the associate counsel for IMLA, and I am very excited to see familiar faces and new ones during the Virtual Canada Program and at our networking/mixology event tomorrow night. In the month of May, Canada observes National Indigenous History Month. At IMLA, we would like to honor our members, who are people of First Nations, Inuit and Métis in Canada. If you would like to nominate an IMLA member from your office or another office, please send me at dshahnami@imla.org mailto:dshahnami@imla.org--with the nominee's permission-his or her headshot and bio by June 10th.

If you would like to submit an article on the topic for our blog-new legal triumphs/challenges, local government actions, developing or recurring issues, or just a history piece of the developments made for indigenous people-please submit the article by June 16th. Proposals are encouraged to speed up the editing/reviewing process. If you submit a proposal letting me know the topic and angle of the article, please have it sent to me by June 7th.
