Hi everyone, I already made a commitment to help, so you can count on me. During my travels around the Hill today I had a chance to gather a little intel from NGA, some of which I feel OK about sharing, but please don’t share beyond the board (and Margaret). It sounds like the date may be Dec. 1, (based on room availability) but that is very, very tentative, so don’t quote me on that. And it appears that the use of the word “hosting” is very deliberately used here. NGA is getting them the space but for now, at least, it’s not clear on the extent of their involvement beyond that. The only other thing I know is that it appears OCTAE is *not* thinking of this being a press event — the space at Hall of States wouldn’t be appropriate for that anyway. Something more like a symposium — but if that word brings to mind something like the PIAAC research conference, erase that image, because that would not be a format that would work for policy people. Again, this was a confidential conversation, so please do not share.
