We are very excited to announce a free screening of the acclaimed
documentary Louder Than a Bomb (2009), which highlights the often
troubling, frequently triumphant, and always inspiring of teen poets
involved with the Louder Than a Bomb (LTAB) poetry slam in Chicago.
Since the release of the documentary, iterations of LTAB have been created
all over the U.S. and in Canada. To date, there are over 15 LTABs that
provide thousands of teen poets a platform to share stories and build
community.
Our goal is to bring a similar event to Tacoma in Spring 2016 and this
screening will serve as a launch event and information session to make that
goal a reality. Teachers, students, parents, interested community members:
we would love to see you in the audience for the film and the
post-screening discussion: How do we bring LTAB to Tacoma?
The screening is free, but we ask that you RSVP with a ticket request by
October 15. Because of limited capacity, you may reserve two (2) tickets
per request.Teachers interested in bringing larger student groups, please
email us.
