Hello all,
Over the course of the past year it has taken a while for me to wrap my
head around the barriers to entry for contributing to Thunderbird. One
barrier appears to be up-to-date documentation. I have raised a bug
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1513652 for an updated
guide to getting started hacking on Thunderbird. But I'd really like to
go beyond just a "getting started" tutorial, to enough resources that
someone can go from zero to sixty without significant bumps in the road
(maybe taking this analogy too far). :-)
I would love your feedback and assistance in updating documentation, and
I'd be willing to jump on some calls or into chats where you guys can do
some knowledge transfers to me so I can do more on technical
documentation myself.
Opening this up, please take a look at the bug and the article linked to
in it, feel free to update it if you have time. I know this isn't
typically the type of discussion that happens here, but I feel this is
the group that has the knowledge needed to fix this problem.
