Passing the following along from Frank Mantlik: 8/21 Wood Stork update. Birders were searching for last night’s Wood Stork in Danbury beginning pre-dawn. Apparently one lucky birder - John Sarles - saw it around 9:30 flying over Upper Kohanza Lake. Many others searched a wide area unsuccessfully through 1:40 (when I left the area at least). It’s a mostly residential area with patches of forest and many ponds and lakes (many of which are inaccessible). Some think that the stork roosted overnight somewhere at or near that lake. If it is still around, it would be worthwhile to check there late afternoon, in case it returns tonight. Frank Mantlik Stratford
