BEST WISHES FOR A SAFE AND SUCCESSFUL EVENT...
... to all Gators who will be doing something revolutionary this weekend!
It is a weekend to celebrate Independence Day and to take a look at what's
going on across the pond! We have one athlete representing us in England
and an epic bike race begins in France!
Weekend Workouts: Take advantage of this long holiday weekend weekend by
getting outside early and often! We have a couple of options for you to
consider...
• Sunday 7/3: Looong Group Ride. This is the peak training week for our 9
IRONMAN Lake Placid athletes before they begin their taper. Many will be
participating in one last really long ride including a group doing an 80
mile out and back between Coventry and the Shady Maple (without a breakfast
stop 😢).
• Sunday 7/3, 11:15am-12:15pm, Spring Valley YMCA indoor lap pool:
Uncoached group swim workout
• Do you want to lead a group bike ride or run? Many of us are training for
events of all distances. We highly encourage you to share on our Facebook
group any rides or runs (of any length) that you are doing where you'd like
some company!
Weekend Events: When in the course of IRONMAN events, it becomes necessary
for one person to dissolve the 140.6 miles which connect them from the
starting line to the finish...
Friday, July 1 through Sunday July 24:
• Tour de France: It starts today! If you've never watched the Tour, it's
an amazing event that includes 21 stages and 3 rest days over the next
several weeks (and ending on IRONMAN Lake Placid Sunday)! Here's all that
you need to know to check it out (and if you don't have the time to watch
the full broadcast, there is a less than one hour highlights video posted
on YouTube after each stage)...

Sunday, July 3:
• IRONMAN UK (Bolton, England): Get your IM trackers ready for an early
1amEDT start! By the time you wake up on Sunday morning, Christina
Pitchford will be well into her 2nd 140.6 mile challenge of 2022! And her
fantastic 111 bib will be sporting our club name, so be sure to send all of
your good Gator vibes across the Atlantic to help propel her to victory!
Go Christina, Gator Done #111!
Have a great weekend training, picnicking, Tour watching, and IRON tracking
and Gator Done! 🐊
