Not sure how many of you know about Google Fiber.

As of right now Google Fiber does not have plans to come all the way  up to
Limestone Ranch.  That said, the opportunity exist if there is enough
interest.  Why am I trying to spread the word?  After the one time  installation
cost of $300, the Basic 5 Mbps service is FREE!!!  That's  right FREE... at
least that's the price for Austin and other current Google  Fiber Cities.
I know that Google Fiber San Antonio has started  planning and hiring for
their city wide construction of the network.  I  just thought that people in
the neighborhood might be interested in FREE  Internet service.  It's only
possible if Google decides there is enough  customer up this way.

The link below provides information on Google Fiber.  Kansas City was
their first city which has expanded to numerous neighborhoods in that  area.  By
the way, Google Fiber also provides TV services too but at a cost  if you
want TV and 1 Gigabit Internet for $79!!!  That's at Fiber which  means
steady 1 Gigabit connectivity unlike CABLE connectivity of TWC Road Runner  which
varies dependent on local internet traffic.

FYI

  • 5 Mbps is good enough for most mainstream internet usage.
  • 6 Mbps is usually minimum for HDX streaming (1080P) services like
    Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, etc...
  • 25 Mbps minimum recommended for 4K streaming Netflix, Amazon Prime and
    the likes
