Clyde, I hope you're not trying to set that as some sort of standard. The
year I have 40 years in the Yacht Club is also the year I turn 64 years old.
That won't make me an old guy too will it? I'd like to think I could
follow your fine example and continue boating as actively as you do for a few
years past then. Those old guys sure had some good stories at the morning
coffee meeting, I miss them sometimes.
Would you take a peek in the window and make sure my boat's still floating
when you walk down to yours? I'll be back home and see you in the spring
when the rain stops. Until then I think So. Cal and Arizona is the place for
me.

where did all the people go?? us, and friends, have talked about the same
subject many times...when it comes to places we have spent time like the
eagles, elks, and our yacht club...the members that were older than us in the
beginning, at our local eagles/elks clubs, etc, now that we are the age
they were when we joined, have gone off into the sunset somewhere...as to our
yacht club, which we have been members for 38 yrs, many have gone through
the officers chairs, which made some sick, and fed up with all the
meetings/functions/cruises, etc...so some sell their boat, buy a land yacht, and
cruise in a different arena! others spend more time mowing lawns! i think
when i get to the 40 year mark in out yacht club, the boat will be for sale,
and we`ll become old timers...clyde
