I have to purchase a new dink for an aft cabin with electric davits. Previous
owner had a Whaler "Rage" which was too heavy by some reports. I am thinking
of an 11' Whaler and 5-6 hp motor. Any thoughts?

Good idea Dan---------make the motor a 15HP or you will wish you had. Total
weight about 450#

Dan, If you can handle the weight, and you need that large & strong a
tender to do the things you want to do, I'm sure the whaler will make a
fine tender. But not with 5-6 hp. More like 15-20.

Look in the archives, many threads on tenders & engines, most
recommending bigger motors for larger solid tenders.

Use a Google search, like    tenders motors site:samurai.com
I think that's right. If not, someone else send Dan the correct example.
Good Luck.
