Bill posted about his preluber set up. Sounds nice.
I've posted about thie PRE LUBER product in the past. For those who may be
interested, Defender Industries (CT) carries this product and they will
special order just the pump rather than all the bells,
whistles,timers,etc...that cuts the price per engine substantially...if I
recall by 40% or 50%.
I decided against installing them based on cost, because here in the NE we
only boat 6 to 8 months per year and myself not more than 150 engine hours.
But especially for those who run year round they could be a nice addition.
The other side of the coin is that it's almost always rings,pistons,valves,
other combustion related components that need work first...due to combustion
crud... main bearings and other engine parts distant from the combustion
process seem to last a long,long time. Pre lubing is only of marginal help, if
any, for those components directly in the combustion flow.
