Has anyone on this list had first hand problems from painting the depth
sounder transducer with antifoul paint, like macron 66? I know all the
rumors. I am asking if anyone has actually had a bad experience with
antifoul on the transducer.

Richard P,
I painted mine with a Jotun 5 year paint om LeeZe.
The max depth it could sense dropped fromm 58.5 meters to just over 30.
And, after 1 year, I took it out, cleaned it, removed the paint, damaging
the surface of the transducer.
Bought a new one and every often, remove it and soak it in a bucket filled
with citric acid and water.
