Subject: GL: Where is the "Best stretch of water"

Need some advice!
I will retire in about a year and want to spend some quality time on the
water. ( short range boating for fishing and sight seeing) I may even
like
to buy a place with water frontage. I think fresh water is my thing
since
I'm now coming off of 20 years of saltwater. Might do some parts of the
loop
in retirement, but my real desire is to hear from loopers that have
traveled
past "an idyllic place--while doing the loop". A place where the
environment
is somewhat unspoiled, water is clear, people are kind (is this an
oxymoron?) good weather 9 months of the year, 20 miles away from the
nearest
Sam's Club, and, where lots are not a million bucks and up. I think
Florida
is out because of the density.
Does anyone have a place of particular beauty they have seen and would
like
to share that meet most of this criteria?
Thanks in advance.
JOHN
