Down by the duck pond in New Haven's Edgewood Park, where I had gone to show a foreign visitor a wood duck, there were no wood ducks. But there was a male American Wigeon. Ok, no big deal, but out of season, anyway. Mark
(1) 'Too bad your visitor missed Wood Duck and (2) that sighting is a very, very big deal.
