If your blackberry has a web browser and your email provider has web capable mail, you can log into that account with your blackberry and send field notes to the list.  Yahoo has a specially formatted mobile mail client making it even easier.

You can also set up Internet mail (not needing to launch your browser) with your Blackberry if your provider offers that. Yahoo (incl. SBCYahoo,ATTYahoo), Google and other major providers do have this feature.

Smartphones, Treo's and windows mobile phones have similar solutions.

Your regular mobile phone also probably has email capabilities built into it but its different for each phone and each provider and you may have per use charges.  It's worth checking out as you never know when you might need it. Chances are if you can Text Message, you can email.
